DR. HERB & BECKY HOLDEN TO RECEIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

SENECA FALLS, NY, July 14, 2010 – Convention Days, Inc. is proud to announce that Dr. Herb and Becky Holden are the recipients of the 2010 Convention Days Community Service Award. Join us on Friday, July 16th, from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm, at the Seneca Falls Historical Society (55 Cayuga Street), for the official award presentation and a reception to honor Herb and Becky’s work and dedication to the local community.

“The work that Herb and Becky Holden have done throughout the region, and throughout the years, stands as a shining example to others. Together, they epitomize the definition of community service, and we know their work will inspire others who want to do the same,” said Christine Moulton, President of the Convention Days Committee.

Herb and Becky Holden began their active interest in the region upon moving to Seneca Falls 41 years ago. In 1969, Herb became the owner of the Seneca Falls Veterinary Hospital, while Becky took on the bookkeeping duties. Together, the Holdens operated the private veterinary practice for 37 years. Herb is a member of the Seneca Falls Rotary Club, A trustee of the Seneca Falls Savings Bank, a former vice president of the Seneca Falls Board of Education, and has served on the boards of several banks and hospitals in the area. Becky currently serves as the treasurer of the Seneca County Arts Council, and is a past president of both the National Women’s Hall of Fame and Seneca Falls Historical Society Boards of Directors. She has also worked extensively with the Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council, Meals on Wheels and several other community organizations. Herb and Becky have three children, Wilbur Holden, Christina Ganzon and Daniel Holden.
